Hello, I'm Tasleem.
I bring genuine empathy, cultural sensitivity, and a deep respect for each person's story to my work. I'm a Registered Therapeutic Counsellor (RTCc), offering therapeutic counselling for adults and adolescents across British Columbia.
Many of the people I work with have been holding a lot together for a long time whether through a difficult relationship, a high-conflict separation, family conflict, parenting challenges, chronic stress, or a significant life transition. Often they arrive feeling overwhelmed, emotionally exhausted, and unsure how to move forward.
My role is to offer a calm, steady space where you can step back from the noise, make sense of what you're experiencing, and reconnect with your own judgment, values, and strengths at a pace that feels right for you.
My approach is calm, thoughtful, and collaborative. I draw on attachment-based, mindfulness-informed, and trauma-informed perspectives, always honouring your unique story, your context, and your pace. Together, we begin by creating steadiness. From there, we gently explore the patterns, relationships, and experiences that may be contributing to distress not just so you can manage what's in front of you, but so you can move forward with more self-awareness, confidence, and resilience.
I believe in the therapeutic relationship as a place where people can steady themselves, reconnect with their own strengths, and grow when supported well.
I practice under regular clinical supervision and follow the professional and ethical standards of the Association of Cooperative Counselling Therapists of Canada.
My role isn't to tell you what to do. It's to walk alongside you as you find clarity, steady yourself, and move toward the life you want. I'd be honoured to walk that path with you.
When life feels overwhelming, clarity can return.
ASCEND is a counselling practice for adults and adolescents across British Columbia. The work begins by helping you feel steadier because when the pressure eases even a little, it becomes possible to think clearly, understand what you're carrying, and move forward with more confidence in your own decisions.
Whether you're facing anxiety, the strain of conflict at home, a difficult separation, or simply the weight of too much for too long - you're welcome here, at whatever pace feels right.Support is available for adults and adolescents navigating anxiety, high-conflict environments, identity stress, family disruption, workplace strain, the cumulative effects of chronic stress, or the emotional impact of constant digital exposure.
